I came into chaplaincy after a divorce while working very hard to figure out "what's next." I completed a Clinical Pastoral Education program, dedicating 1400 hours in one year: 400 hours of coursework and 1000 of internship. I am a board certified clinical chaplain through CPSP and SCA;
I have my Pastoral Counselor certification as well as my Palliative Care certification. I retired from teaching writing and folklore at Utah Valley University in 2019, where I taught for nineteen years, to commit to full-time chaplaincy. I have been a chaplain at Utah Valley Hospital for ten years.
Wren House came to be when a colleague asked me to support a friend who was going through major life transitions. She knew I had real-life grounding as well as counseling experience. This client told two friends, and they each told two friends, and Wren House continues to grow.
I specialize in guiding people through transitions, from birth to death and the many changes between. I work well with teenagers and college students (years of being a student and teacher have created the person
I am) and their unique challenges: social media, imposter syndrome, anxiety, social skills. I am also drawn to adults who are adjusting to empty-nest, experiencing identity crisis, or contending with divorce, faith transition, or life-threatening disease.
Beyond internalized life experience (thank you breast cancer), I have years of specialized training in aging (including caring for four parents who have since passed away), grief, anxiety, self-harm, anger, contending with the unspoken, mindfulness, self-discovery, and caregiving.

She has an amazing gift of knowing others' needs! Ronda is smart, trustworthy, kind and loving, yet also funny and witty. She is exactly the kind of person I w

I recommend her to anyone who even
mentions therapy!
I highly recommend Wren House Counseling.
I have been referring patients, friends, and family to Ronda for a few years now. I often
